New Chair and Vice Chair of GEF-CSO Network

The Network recently concluded the election for the new Chair and Vice Chair of the Network. We are pleased to announce that Mr. Essam Nada of The Arab Network for Environment and Development (RAED), Egypt/Regional Focal Point for North Africa region is the newly elected Chair while Mr. Victor Kawanga of Human Settlement of Zambia/ Regional Focal Point for Southern  Africa region is the Vice Chair of the Network. New Governance Structure for GEF-CSO Network

The Network Coordination Committee adopted a new governance structure which includes a Chair and Vice Chair of the Network and a separate Secretariat for a better administration of the Network. The revisions to the Network rules were adopted in the CC meeting in October 2015. Click here for more details.During the transition period, the Global Environment Centre (previous Central Focal Point) will continue to serve as the interim Network Secretariat till early 2017.

New Strategic Plan for GEF-CSO Network

The Network Coordination Committee adopted a new Strategic Plan on 2 June 2015.This Strategic Plan lays out the vision and targets for the GEF CSO network in the GEF 6 and GEF 7 periods (between 2015-2022). Read more.

GEF 50th Council Meeting and CSO Consultation Meeting

The 50th GEF Council meeting will take place from June 7-9, 2016 in Washington DC, USA. Prior to that a GEF Consultations with Civil Society will be held on June 6, 2016. CSO representative who wish to participate with financial support can apply online at https://www.thegef.org/gef/50th-Council-CSO-Registration?page=1. before April 6, 2016. Registration for self-financed participants is until May 6, 2016.

 

Expanded Constituency Workshop (ECW)

Global Environment Facility (GEF) is organizing Expanded Constituency Workshop (ECW) in dfferent regions in 2016. The ECWs aims at strengthening participants' knowledge of GEF-6 strategies, programs, policies, and procedures. A regional CSO meeting will be held prior to the ECW.
